Burgundy and Beef session (Bishan): Tasted blind. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Coarse big bubbles. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of minerality, citrus lemon, sweet spice. Developed. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium- body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of citrus lemon, sweet spice, and hints of minerality. Medium finish. Acceptable quality. I was guessing Cava. Lacking body and flavour intensity, this is suitable as an aperitif, rather than a serious traditional method sparkler. Where are the rich bready notes may I ask? No point ageing this any further. Drink up. 66% Pinot Noir, 34% Chardonnay.

NobleRottersSydney - Henschke (Alio's, Surry Hills): [12.5%, cork] {DavidM} Pretty underwhelming all up. Chardonnay-dominant flavours, rather coarse and aggressive bubbles, medium weight. Needs more time on lees for some complexity. Croser’s been the same price for ten years; they’ve been cutting corners and it shows.

Light yellow with a green tinge. Nose shows citrus and granny smith apple. The bead is fine and persistent, there is nice acidity throughout, the wine finishes with good complexity and some slightly developed honey characters that will continue to evolve over time Review Link - www.winereviewer.com.au (drink by 2015)
