  • AK's birthday: Had the 2001 before so got the MCQ on maker and plot right, but thought this was from a warmer vintage. Had some hints of botrytis, the sheer weight and power of the wine was in plain sight. Rich and unctuous, exotic white fruit, showed some development with some honey notes. Impressive but almost too much for me.

  • Straw to pale yellow colored. Flint, apple, pear, and white flowers on the nose. Also, buttermilk or blue cheese -- oh no -- which blew off in 15 minutes. Laser focused on the attack, its precision belies its full fruit. On the entry, the new oak is present, but not overpowering, giving a sort of rubber cement taste combined with high toned orchard fruits, crushed stone, white flowers, and lemon zest. This wine felt full throttle. I mean it had power and intense fruit, but it was so balanced with acid it could have been ripe chablis but for the oak. White flowers and gun powder on the finish.

  • Nose was opulent with passion fruit, white flowers, honey and chalk. Palate had round yellow fruit with blossoming white flowers. Opened up nicely in the glass throughout a 2 hour dinner. In a sweet spot. 93+

  • Cracking good, classic Burgundy. At first the nose was all flint, and after an hour in the glass that had faded, and all one could smell is white flowers. Excellent precision and length. This was spot on tonight.

    Flott vin! 92-93p
