In Cesky Krumlov, with pizza. I wanted the best Moravian they could offer me, and this was it. OK only around £18 GBP.... Woodsy and bramble aromas. Honest. Palate good and fruity with that same bramble flavour dominating (with the savoury and vegetal notes that real live brambles actually imply). Sous-bois. Spice. Bitter flick at the end. Some seriousness under the fruit. Good balance. Tasty and moderately complex. Stylish. I liked it.
In case you need to know, Rouci is a local name for the Pinot Noir grape (though there is apparently a tiny amount of a another grape or two in this wine). Which I found out several days later, and which makes sense given the wine: it did display what I think pinot ought to do and I should have been brave enough to make that guess on taste alone! Nice.
