Excellent, 11% alc. Perhaps slightly one-dimensional, but very fresh still, and little of the aged honey character of these wines, though there is a touch. Colour: bright lemon Bouquet: lemon, sherbert, lemon zest Palate: delicate lemon and citrus flowers, lemon oil, minerals. Medium bodied, good clean acid, shortish finish. April 2019

Golden, with a green tint. Soft nose, with notes of honey, lemon zest, and elderflower, and emerging hints of sawdust and petrol. The palate is medium-bodied and oily, with flavours of lemon oil and petrol, and a dry, slightly powdery finish.

Have kept several bottles of this to see how it evolves: the bad news is that this bottle at least has devolved rather than evolved. Hints of honey and lime, but overall pretty thin and tired. This was sealed with a cork; interesting to speculate whether it might have aged better under screwcap. I've enjoyed Brokenwood's ILR Semillon with several years' bottle age, but this cheaper version doesn't seem to have the stuffing for that.

Two Australian wines as the main dinner wine two nights consecutively! Shocking! This was medium-lemon in color, still with lots of primary notes in the nose, lightly waxy, with high acidity, moderate alcohol, medium-bodied, with a saline lime peel finish. Not especially complex - some light white flowers, a bit of oxidation, with medium concentration. Probably on a plateau with time to go, given the acidity, but not likely to evolve in complexity, given the concentration. Needed food to work with the salinity of the finish.
