The true test for grenache - for me - is if you avoid the candy sweetness overripeness. This wine passes the test. Fine nose, wild berries, licorice root tea, spice box, some minerality. however, as Thunberg points out, the body does not fully deliver on what the nose promises. Good, but not excellent. Lacks in structure a bit. Easy drinking everyday wine that would go well with a lot of food. I think it's quite good value.

Consumed with a dinner of rabbit and wild boar sausages. It proved to be a sprightly, red-fruited wine with more than a hint of carbonic maceration in the nose. For a CA Grenache, it was remarkably light on its feet with vivid acidity and a core of tart red fruit. The only resemblance it bore to my earlier CA varietal Grenache encounters (Unti, Margerum) was a pong of VA in the nose. Not a whole lot of varietal character here (no one would likely mistake it for a wine from the S Rhone) but a very appealing wine for a Central Coast Grenache.

Interresting wine, rich aroma with lots of fruit and some flower notes. The body is not in the same class, nice fruit but lacks body.

Nice, bright, fresh, strawberry flavors. Not exactly what I was expecting, but quite tasty. Went well with chicken with middle eastern spices.

nose - raspberries, v. grenache! touch of smoke
taste - firm, good fruit, bright (Californian) but bone dry. I like this.
