  We probably caught this one just in time. It probably has been sitting upright on a retailers shelf longer than optimal. The aroma pouring into the decanter was still very fruity, but also had some bottle funk. I am seeing from fellow reviewers they mention lots of secondary and tertiary flavors even 3 years ago. The maturity, or maybe earlier in it's evolution, shows a menthol, eucalyptus flavor. The mostly red fruit stays in the background, deferring to a mineral, caramel, graphite and gun metal flavor profile. Medium bodied with dark but not opaque color. Not especially concentrated. Gritty lingering tannins. Jammy finish.
