  • Tasted at the Viva Espana Tasting.

Big round mouth feel. Lots going on in the nose and through the palate. Minerals, fruit, glycerin, well balanced. Nice wine that I could drink a lot of.

  • Lacks acidity to push this wine higher, it's smooth, yeasty, polished, with musky fruit that reminds me of the Cos from Sicily. Many will find this a great "drinker" and it certainly is that, but with a little more acid to give it heft, this could become something really special.....

My first exposure to the Albillo grape, this particular bottle hails from the Madrid area. I will see what else is out there and compare later.

  • Simply beautiful wine. Has some heavy acidity as it is first opened but as it opens up hints of honey and roasted nuts become apparent. The acidity mellows after the wine hits a good temp and the wine really rewards the drinker. It has a nice burnt gold color and a nice light to medium body and decent length. Give it a while to come into its own and you won't be disappointed.
This is a bottle well worth the price.

(This really pays to sit on and try a few hours after it is opened to really let the acidity mellow.)
