  • This wine is somewhat amusing. The easiest way to describe it is as an over-oaked New World Chardonnay with bubbles. Despite being made in the traditional method, it does not remotely resemble Champagne, as the use of oak is quite extreme, giving it the customary "pop-corn/toast/butterscotch/vanilla" aromatic set of New World Chards. But it is quite fizzy and crispy and it renders it, as said, a bit amusing. But it does not quite work for me. Drink it very cold if you want to try and hide some of its flaws.

  • Nice, rich and yeasty; nice filling mouth, focused and good acidity. Excellent sparkler. Bio-dynamic, organic; Chardonnay 100%, aged in 10 mo. old barrels; hand riddled and disgorged; full malo with battonage; from Cloudy Bay.
