Deep red color with limited transparency. Nose has blueberry, strawberry, and some herb (oregano?) notes. Palate comes off as a cross between Gamay and Frappato with a grape character that joins the berry fruit and herbal/spicy notes. Overall, I liked this quite a bit as a change of pace red. From other notes, I'm glad I let this sit for a little time in the cellar to let the oak notes integrate better. This seemed plenty alive, so drink or hold.

A dark purple made from a grape with which I am not familiar-Souson. The candied nature of the American oak is apparent on the nose. Overall, the impression is one of drinking hard grape candy. 13% alcohol, well balanced, with a shortish but pleasant finish. Limited tannins.
