  • Saturday late night at Maison Dakota. Tasted blind. Drank in Conterno Sensory. Cork crumbled even with Durand.
Same tasting note as before in 2015, with additional elements of tobacco tar, blackberries and blackcurrant. Earth, spices, and raisins also on the palate. Dominant note on nose and palate is coffee.
15.5% alcohol is handled well. Oak integrated in now.
Drinking as good as it gets. Probably at plateau peak already.
Blend of Alicante Bouschet, Aragones, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Touriga Nacional.

  • Purplish ruby depth. Rosy twiggy aromas, coffee grounds, and bits of paprika. Mouthwatering acids, and some fairly high tannins, some ripe cherry, grass, cocoa, and some meats and smokes. A pretty short finish though

  • I agree with the earlier note that this is a matter is taste. It’s a big wine of 15.5% and is very intense and rich so certainly not for everyone. However, I have to say it also has an acidity which helps balance this modern style wine.

  • Lot of red fruits, wood and some flowers. Persistent and a little sweet. Could be stored for 3 years more. New world style wine.

  • Tasted during a WA event „a matter of taste” – Portugal master class. This is a Alicante Bouschet, Aragones, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Touriga Nacional blend. Medium ruby. Conspicuously herbal nose with asparagus, gingerbread, green vegetables but also chocolate and flowers, very perfumed. Surprisingly light on the palate then, more aroma than structure. Needs more mid mouth stuffing. Interesting wine, I guess the aroma is an acquired taste.
