Aerated into a decanter half an hour before serving. Presents as purple with some chunky sediment in the last few mL. Nose has a lot of volatile alcohol, but also pleasant stewed dark and blue fruit, a touch of mint, and oak character (vanilla and toast). Similar on the palate, with a little warmth from the alcohol. Heavy and mouth-filling with balanced structure in the form of medium, smooth tannins and medium, mouth-watering acid. Finish is medium+ with blueberry dessert flavors. Very good, 86/100.

This was around $10 at Costco. I'm not a fan of many spanish wines, and especially not the cheap ones, but this could pass for a $15 Cotes du Rhone. Quite nice.

Was excellent. Time really helped this one. Tannins mellowed which added immense enjoyment.
