Decanted 90 mins. ahead. Very fragrant nose, with white pepper, bacon, violets, and blackberry leading an excellent package of aromas. For a syrah it's very flowery and complex. Concentrated on the palate, rather coiled-up actually, as further depths of fruit begin to shine out: blueberries, cassis, and baked bread flavors. The finish comes in waves, with fruit, orange peel, and tannins in a light grip. This wine could be cellared for a few years, but right now it's very very good.
