  The last bottle that I had of this 2009 vintage was in October 2021. That bottle was exceptional and at its peak. I rated it a 94. However, this bottle was about 89. I received it from a friend who may not have cellared properly. The bottles that I cellared were great. Drink now, the 2019 JCB #1's are in a very good place.

  This is a dark opaque wine. The color was dark ruby to medium purple. The aromas of dark fruit are apparent on the nose. Black Berry, Blueberry, Black Plums. I also got some vanilla, molasses, and mocha. Some shades of black currant and cassis, a slight menthol, and some cedar characteristics. On the palate I got the same dark fruits as on the nose. It is a full-bodied wine that was smooth and velvety. The tannins were sweet (medium). Nice acidy (medium). Nicely balanced. The finish was quite long, almost endless. I have had numerous bottles of this 2009 vintage: opened one up every year. It was always a very good wine, yet slow to mature. It is now suddenly in a very good place and may have peaked. If you have some, don’t wait too long, drink it soon. It’s sophisticated and simply delicious.

  Bravo! Perfekt modnet en nydelse :-) Klassisk Cabernet Sauvignon med balanceret garvesyre med nuancer af solbær og cassis. Vor 95 pts siger alt!

  *I am not an expert* but- this is a very good wine. Lots of raisin/prune on the nose and even got some maple syrup and butter at first. Taste is good but very "soft", and by that I think I mean it seems like it has low acidity or tannins. Absolutely ready to drink now.. Not sure if it will last 10 more years (as other reviews say) but I will find out!
