Although not as characteristic of its origins as some of its peers, this has always been a nice QPR. This also seemed to put on weight since the last time I took it for a spin. I was getting a plastic-y or metallic taste though that distracted from the rest of the palate. As I studied the wine, I noticed that there were alot of objects floating in the wine that I initially thought was sediment. At closer inspection they were too fine, uniform and a lighter color. I checked out the cork (fake plastic) and noticed that the metallic writing (for the winery and website) had rubbed off and was now in the wine. Ouch. Even without this unfortunate circumstance, got me to wondering what kind of taint/effect these plastic corks can have on wine. No Buono

A well balanced wine. A dark ruby colour with a savage blackcurrant, brambleberry character. Leather, spice, tea and saddle are all there on the palate. Alcohol hits on the nose, but is not overly apparanet on tha palate. Good acicidity, med tannins and moderate, slightly bitter finish. Good value.

Red fruits, clean mouthfeel, good acidity, interesting and fresh, a hint of alcohol and some bitterness in the finish. Kept well in the fridge for three days - very pleasent wine (fake cork).
