  • The Chianti Classico region extends between Siena and Florence and is rich with abbeys and castles. During Medieval times large chestnut and oak tree forests were replaced with grapevines and olive trees which immediately gained notoriety for the quality produced. Here, the Sangiovese is enhanced with a small amount of Merlot. Medium intensity, brick ruby in colour, the nose is restrained with typical earthy truffle notes. On the palate there is nice weight coming from the fruit and good balance with ripe tannins attained from nine months ageing in large oak vessels.
