  • Aged unintentionally for more than 2 years. Golden color with light bubbles. Nose leesy, honey with strong florals, some granny smith apple. Palate off-dry, golden apple with some stony minerality, hint of bitterness on finish, some golden fruit fatness as it warms. The bitterness detracts a bit, a bit simpler than usual, enjoyable with kebabs. Not sure the base vintage but would drink young.

  • Tart green apple and some floral character, it is on the simple side but has a nice fizz and is refreshing. With some time in the glass a little nuttiness comes out and it gets more cider-y. I much prefer Pepiere's Muscadets.

  • Mainly Melon with a bit of Chardonnay.

Pale lime green color. Somewhat restrained nose with understated aromas of ripe white fruits, some honeyed richness and a little bit of juicy red apples. The wine is bone-dry, crisp and lean on the palate with quite ripe white fruits, rather pronounced chalky bitterness, some steely minerality and a hint of mealy green apple. The wine is very high in acidity with a rich, creamy mousse. There seems to be a hint of dosage sweetness at the tip of the tongue. The finish is long, crisp and rather bitter with quite austere flavors of chalk dust, mealy green apples and steely minerality.

A rather lean, aggressive and stripped-down sparkling wine with very little fruit, quite pronounced quinine bitterness and overall pretty austere character. Unlike Muscadets that are often pleasantly neutral, this is just aggressively austere and lacking charm. Not worth the 16,90€.

  • I was excited to see a wine from Pepiere that I hadn't tried, sparkling at that. It was OK but not something I'd buy again. Compared to his still Muscadets (unfairly) it lacked the intensity and deep minerality, and as a sparkler it was clean, reasonably fruity and with a tad too much RS for my taste and somewhat short in the finish.

  • 9.5% abv. Muscadet & chardonnay blend. Straw yellow. Chalky, gravelly nose. Tart green apple and citrus as well. Subtle bubbles. Dry. Makes me think of a chablis with bubbles.
