Eric Keating Wines and a few others (Lou's): Most of us do not drink a lot of Malbec and very little of what we do comes from California. Perhaps that was one reason this was the least liked bottle. Purple in color. The nose has some brett on it. Not terrible, but definitely some wet hay/warm barnyard notes to it. Also some black raspberries. Its a bit drying on the palate, perhaps from the brett? Medium bodied. Firm tannins. It is a fine wine and reminded us of some Crozes Hermitage wines.

We drank this bottle last night following Keating's 2006 Malbec. I guess it was a kind of taste comparison. My wife enjoyed the 2006 more, however I thought the 2008 was better. We decanted for about 15-20 minutes. I've never been a Malbec person, but Keating has a great one that flirts the fine wine category.

Delicious well knit mature Malbec. Sorry to see Eric isn’t making wines anymore. I’ve loved every one I’ve popped
