Clear bright garnet in the glass. Nose is shy but yields typical cherry and tea. Echoed on the rich palate with the cherries somewhat baked (in a good way) with a bit of marzipan. Drinking partner says it calls to mind a bourbon barrel aged wine, and I agree (even though it’s not). Very low tannin. Medium acidity. Medium long, somewhat tarry finish. Perfect companion to Cajun seasoned salmon, stir fry vegetables, and macaroni and cheese. My first PN from my friend Brian Graham. Hopefully, it won’t be my last.
