Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 87.5 points

  • Pop and poured with aerator. The color is dark garnet. The nose hints of anise, cherry, spices and earth. This is a medium to full bodied, dry bourdeaux blend, but seems heavy handed as the fruit is overpowered by oak and heat. The finish is short and the tannins seem harsh. It definitely lacks balance and elegance. This may improve with time or be best served if paired with spicy food and beef. Although it did grow on me as I drank it this evening, I would not purchase another bottle because I am not a fan of the heavy oak. I've revised my score as this really softened by day 2 and is much more enjoyable.
