This was my second bottle of the 2010 Pierre Chaude and it showed much better than the first. The wine benefits from being decanted, thinning out in a positive way. It's tremendously alive and mobile in its scent and taste, changing with time and air and with each glass poured: for me, olive oil and black olive at first; then anise (particularly compelling); then cooked fig. There can be a syrupy aspect that I dislike and that the first bottle I drank was overwhelmed by but this bottle overcame it.
