  • Showed wonderfully. Complex. Both red and black fruits. A little bit sweet on the attack, more acidic in the midpalate, but balanced. A nice finish. This is a good food wine. I don't recall having a wine from Liguria before. I picked this up from the Kermit Lynch discount bin and it was a steal.

  • Strawberry, dried tomato, dried sour plum, iron, and quite noticeable touch of salt and seawater mineral. Very mild and modest in nose, kind of closed in its strong viscousity, like old fashioned barbaresco. After some airation, it gained more round bite and dried red fruit length.

(Cascina Fèipu dei Massaretti Rossese, Riviera Ligure di Ponente DOC) Reddish-pink in color. Pronounced alcohol (listed as only 12.5%) competes with an interesting nose of cardboard box, burnt toffee, and nasturtium. After a bit of petillance, the palate becomes lean and earthy, finishing with sour redcurrant flavor and eucalyptus cough-drop sweetness. Liguria: Reawakening by the Sea
