Far tastier and less blocky than a bottle enjoyed a couple years ago. Structure no longer dominates. Fine black cherry and sous-bois notes beginning to emerge. Still plenty in the tank. Hold maybe 3-5 years. Very good.

Similar impressions to those in my 2017 note. Outperforming its status as Villages level wine. Fairly light coloured but still quite ruby with only touches of garnet at the rim. A pungent, Gevrey bouquet of wild blackberries and strawberries, spices, dry garrigue and bonfire smoke. Some gentle, nascent florals. Intense, precise and powerful on the palate, showing persistent, focussed acidity. Sappy and crunchy berry and cherry fruit. Below mid weight - refined, clean and pure - yet with sufficient volume and substance. Very much in the house style - no blockbuster, a seamless, elegant whole. Silky mouthfeel, with fine grained, spherical tannins. Now on its optimal drinking plateau, probably until 2030+.

Too young, imo. Beautiful nose of dark fruit. Some spices. Closed fruits on the palate. Stringent tannins. Acid. Opens up on day two. More in balance. Juicy, but still not quite in balance. Great potential.

Stiil too young, beautiful nose of perfumed red fruits, some smoke, but closed, thight on the palate. Almost sour. Better on day two.

Hos Heidi&Aril. Det var dumt å ta den efter Laurent Mazis 2011.
