Needs some serious decanting time. 2-3 hours. Much smoother after decanting with a velvet feel in the mouth and taste of plums and cassis. Bit of an aftertaste though, so is not a stunner. Don't understand the complaints about finish; it as about medium length. But again, this one really needs air to somewhat come together.
Also wine spectator gave the 2008 an 85 not 90 in 2011; two years later it seems to be drinking a bit better.

While I noted on my previous review that this wine benefits from several hours of decanting, the second bottle that I opened did not behave the same way and I noted little improvement, if any. I doubt I will try it again, so final word is - decent wine, but not deserving of the 90 points WS awarded it.

Initially I thought it is a bit on the soft side, (i.e lacking some acidity), but it improved after 2-3 hours. It stood well to a roast beef dinner, but really went great with a glorious pandoro, the richness of the wine complementing nicely the light, sweet texture of the cake. In the end, the bottle seemed too small for two people and wished I have picked up more.

Opaque purple color. Stewy nose with sage and muddled dark fruit. Nice acidity, minerality and tannins give the wine a pleasant mouth feel but uninteresting palate. 5+11+15+6=87

Burst of chocolate on the nose and first taste. After that, nothing. Absolutely no finish. Will not try again L
