  Drank this just a few days after a more hyped Saxon Brown Zin and I preferred this. Great fruit on nose and initial palate but nicely balanced with some savory through midpalate and touch of pepper and spice which made it more food friendly. Silky mouthfeel and decent finish. Excellent wine

  ZAP 2013 (San Francisco, CA): deep brick in color. dark fruit, mushrooms, licorice, floral, on the nose. chocolate, blueberry, blackberry, butter, on the palate. medium acid and tannins on the finish.

  Purplish red color with garnet highlights. Brambly fruit on the nose with some blackberry compote, stems, & black raspberry finishing with some vanilla. Smooth mouthfeel with Blackberry initially, some white pepper & alcohol. Mid palate turns to raspberry & the tannins stay centrally on the palate with this one but add some structure. Red fruit & black pepper with stems on the finish.
