Dark, smooth, and round. Roasted meats. Balsamic. Turning toward dried dark fruits at this point. Essentially no tannins. Acids got a little out of proportion as the fruit melted away on day 2. For $20 this has been pretty good over the past 10 years.

Pleasant nose of dried cherry, herbs. Medium weight. Some cured meat on the finish. Balanced and not overripe. Surprised how well this is drinking.

2010 Southern Rhone Night, Courtesy of Zoom (Santa Barbara County): Lacked the acidity needed to balance the generous fruit. Came across as monolithic and a bit flabby. Either past prime, or perhaps was heat-affected before being sold.
