(von Othegraven Ockfen Bockstein Riesling Kabinett Erste Lage) ($35.00) Oh this is just insanely gorgeous! Have I ever tasted a prettier, more archetypal Saar Riesling? Quince, ginger, wintergreen, it was acutely painful to spit. Lavender and wisteria and spice, and a firm, minty-mineral finish.

Aromas of sulfur and wet stone. Tasty and complex flavors of honey, lychee and pineapple with minerals creeping in on the finish. Just a touch of spice adds interest. Very good.
