Nose of cherries, spice. Dark brick red color. Magnum. Still young and green notes initial. After some hours it showed more complexity. Medium to long finish. Think it still has more to give, more time.

Original drinking window was to 2020 which was on the CT label on the bottle. I should have rechecked. Quite tight and closed on day one. Drank over several days and it improved day by day. Opened up beautifully with lots of fresh fruit. Very smooth. I would be patient with this wine and believe that 2025 may be a conservative date for the end of the drinking window. I would decant this wine for a considerable period of time if drinking in the next year or two.

Heavy and deep compared to young Bordeaux, with which I started the evening. Earth. Wood. Leather. Tobacco. Sour. Menthol. All Gaja wines are a house favorite. Always worth the price, despite the high cost, for this high QPR collector.
