Some browning apparent. A soapy, sousbois, cherry, strawberry nose. Bright strawberry, cherry, earth, and hay on the palate. Nice acidity and a touch of dusty tannin. Has held up wonderfully and has improved over the past decade. A surprise indeed.

Tasted at the winery. Darker fruit notes along with forest floor on the nose. Medium bodied and the acidity seemed fully in balance with the fruit, leading to a very smooth wine. Mostly darker fruit notes upfront, blending in just a bit of redfruit towards the finish. The forest floor/earthiness was especially noticeable on the finish. I was surprised by how much life this wine had left. It's fully in balance, but the fruit, while soft, rather than bright and focused, hasn't faded yet. I would drink this in the next year or so before that starts to happen.

Very light and delicate. Floral nose, slight spice on palate with plenty of cherriies. Early drinking style Pinot that probably is best consumed in the first 5 years from vintage.
