opened this '98 in mid-August 2009 ... too late for this little wine, it just didn't have the staying power -- it was drinkable, but thin and spent, smellt turned cork was fine, no leaks/ crystals/ oxidation ... so don't hold onto this any longer, try it now! maybe yours will be better (my cellar conditions are not 100% ideal)

($10) Fairly priced Merlot. Has a slightly Bordeaux-like nose. Ripe, medium-full bodied. Densely colored in the glass. Lacks some length and depth in the mouth. $10

Medium dark maroon. Slightly reserved aromas of dark fruit. Taste is reserved with dark fruit and some oaky smoke
