My last bottle, and this one was consumed two years too late. The wine is tired and strongly raisined. Open it up now, but be prepared to pour it down the drain.

dull ruby w/ min amber at edge in bright light on white background; no sense of freshness or vitality to the fading -however gracefully- black cherry and licorice notes; 84 now but if memory serves probably uppper 80's in its prime.

Double decanted and poured, and then consumed over 5 hours. Medium-bodied wine that is medium ruby in color. On the nose, cherries and garrigue. On the palate, juicy kirsch, plums, white pepper, and light licorice on the very long 30-40 second finish. There is an excellent balance and fullness to this CdR Villages, and the tannins are nicely grippy and sweetly satisfying. Very classic Rhone profile and a very enjoyable wine that matches really well with food…well done!

Fruit forward, drinking good but somewhat uninteresting. Do pick up good pedigree elements. Nice fruit on the nose, cherries on the palette.
