After 4 years since the last tasting the tannins have relaxed more but still fruit forward. Beautiful wine but it is reaching the end of its prime. These vines near Calistoga were pulled out in 2013/2014 to make room for more productive varietals for Napa Valley. 13.9% alcohol. Paid $40.

The shop keeper of the August Briggs Calistoga store gracious sold me one of these bottles(normally reserved for their wine club). This was an excellent surprise. It is typically of many other well crafted Pinot Noirs from California. Fruit forward with subtle tannins. 13.9% alcohol. Paid $40.

Hello strawberry cheesecake! Light magenta color, very little tannin. Flavor of vanilla, not very complex. Drinkable...maybe with an after-dinner cheese plate. August Briggs makes several consistent, good-drinking wines. Have been in their wine club for about a year.
