Popped-and-poured which was a big mistake; needs to decant for at least 90 minutes. I forgot that Walter Scott is a Deep Roots Coalition member and produces their wine from grapes that are sourced from non-irrigated vineyards. Just like many great dry-farmed wines that I have had from Oregon, the main focus is about enhancing the terroir signature of the area; and boy this one sure does. 2 hours in the decanter will reward you with fantastic and unique earth-based aromas and silky smooth tannin structure on the palate. A real treat and showing incredibly well right now.
