Four years ago I said "lowish acid so not a not long-holder" and then immediately forgot I owned it. Opened it last night thinking we'd taste it and dump it but no, in fact it was splendid. Bright but mature flavors unrecognizable as viognier based on New World expectations for same, with orange blossom on the nose and preserved lemon and caramel on the palate, all finishing dryer than you think it will, and one of those rare, stratospheric wine-food matches for a curried cauliflower and apple soup. Wish I owned more wines like this.

Purchased from the winemakers at an SF Wine Club tasting. Nice guys, great wines!
Gold and glossy. Intense Viognier bouquet mellowed by time into faint wet rock and fresh cut flowers, with dried persimmon representing the development of its youthful fruit salad.
Just enough acid to get it this far. Oxidized oily fat notes complement the emollient texture. Distant caramelized pineapple gives way to yeasty honey complexity, with a background of faintly oaky grass-fed ghee and backbone of volcanogenic minerals.
Incredible varietal persistence on the finish, almost certainly due to the palette hugging viscosity and powerful yet balanced richness.
I'm sad to see this bottle gone, as it was among the crown jewels of my humble collection, but very much enjoyed its expression of deft technique and bottle evolution.

My first bottle of this wine. Light gold. Nose of ginger and flowers. Light to medium palate of white flower, citrus, tropical fruit, and ginger. Nice acidity. Very good length. Beautiful balance and elegance. Not a cloying viognier as some can be.

Ripe flavors of ginger and white flowers with apricot. Rich and creamy on the palate with butterscotch notes. The old lady perfume does eventually show up but it never dominates the wine. Lowish acid so not a long-holder, but lovely for now.

Very nice floral notes and golden color. Full mouth feel, high viscosity with nice mineral flavors.
