Performed well at a tasting event. A bit on the heavy side for a Rioja. Pleasant fruit. Plenty of oak. Tannin and acid in adequate balance. Finish was good.

Tasted at Total Wines Rioja class. 100% Tempranillo; aged 2 years in French oak. We really enjoyed tasting this wine - it was complex and structured, hearty. Dark and inky red color; sour cherry nose; rich cherry / red fruits, spice and oak on the palate; soft & silky tannin structure; warming and peppery finish.

Good fruit on nose and initial mouthfeel but then begins to lose its identity. Very tannic finish indicative of the French oak after a couple hours of decanting, which become distracting.

Drink within 1-2 years. Drinking as well as it has since I purchased this vintage.
