Muted nose which signified a wine probably past its prime. Some residual spiciness. The taste of this bottle was quite full bodied and somewhat brighter than the other bottle (marked as flawed). Lacks fruit but some oiliness and spice. Still another disappointing experience.

Oh what a disappointment! We visited this domaine in October 2010 and loved the laser focused precision of the wine making, with huge respect for the terroir. Maybe it didn't travel well when we carried it home. The colour is an inviting brilliant mid yellow-gold, and the nose rather tight, evolving to show characteristic floral and warm spicy notes. But the taste was unintegrated with the mellow spicy full body showing a couple of notches too much residual sugar and the acidity a couple of notches too low. So whilst the finish showed a pleasing muskiness, this was definitely sweet enough to be suitable as a dessert wine.

Flat, either past it or slightly flawed
