Lunch at the club with my team. We opened and pnp'd. Not as vibrant as it was years ago when I last tried it. Dark fruit on the nose. The palate was dark berries, plums, tree bark and a hint of mocha leading to a finish of moderate length.

5 hours airtime. Very hot with zero fruit....extremely dry, and i love dry wines. Not much complexity. Drink now and make sure to drink at temperature given the very noticeable alcohol. This wine simply doesnt have the stuffing to perform without its fruit....prefer the regular kobalt cab for sure. If you want a mark herold-style wine that DOES have the stuffing, has more complexity, and is roughly the same price (or less), go with the collide. I will not be buying this again.

Decanted the magnum through a vinturi into 2 decanters and let them sit for 2-3 hours while the group drank chardonnay. Big nose of dark fruit, I found the palate to my predominately blackberry, with the sage and fig, a hint of chocolate on the long finish. Definitely the best red wine of the evening.

From a magnum with Thanksgiving dinner, nose was dark fruit and hint of wood, palate was blackberry, cedar, mocha and fig. A nice long finish.
