From a magnum opened three and a half hours before my birthday dinner. The nose was all fruit. The palate was blackberry, cherry, plum, some wood, a little mocha and a hint of spice leading to a moderately long finish. This wine has years to go.

Intensity is the key word here. The finish lingers and is notably less assertive than what is found at the front. Dark berries, cigar box. Zero alcohol/heat. Lacks complexity, but a winner. Stood up to top end NY Strip.

Decanted for 2 hours and drank over the next 3 hours. Dominated by cedar and licorice. Dark fruit is taking a back seat. A little dust, sweetness. Good, but not spectacular. It had a little bit of austerity, good to give it more life, but not all that pleasing on the palate. This was my second Pritchard Hill Estate and both were underwhelming for the price.

Pnp. Stewed peppers, gravel. Med body, low acid, med tannins. Currant, bittersweet chocolate, stewed peppers on the pallette.
Would buy more of this vintage

Really nicely integrated at this point - black currant and cherry notes, plenty of undergrowth and mocha as a balance.
