  • Decent Walla Walla cab. Could cellar for another 5+ years. Big fruit, drying tannins with decent acidity. Held up nicely over 3 days.

  • I thought this held up well at its price point. Certainly won't change your life, but has the required components for a solid $25 Cabernet. If scoring 87-89.

  • decent nose upon opening. After an hour it got really disjointed. Meh at best during hour number one. Really regretting this purchase. The last bottle will be held longer or consumed quickly by guests at some boring family gathering. Nothing to savor. Certainly not boutique as DP had claimed.

  • This was Ok - drank it a little on the cooler side so didn't get much of a nose at all on it. Had a little chemical streak going on mid palate - had a decent finish. Drank it up against an 08 Saviah Cab which was about $5 cheaper and the Saviah was better.

Not bad-not great, I guess this could characterized as an everyday drinker but not a special bottle by any means.

  • Setting: This wine was slow ox’d for two hours, recapped, then tasted 24 hours later.

Sight: This wine is bright, with no evidence of gas or particles. Color is deep purple at the core that continues all the way to the edge. Deep concentration of color. Legs are thick and move slowly down the glass.

Nose: This wine does not smell flawed. Light to Medium intensity. Primal fruit aromas of black fruit; black cherry, and a hint of undetermined red fruit. Secondary notes of spice and a hint of rose petals. No earth or minerals on the nose. No detection of new oak or heat.

Palate: This wine is light bodied. This wine has primary fruit flavors of dark cherry and plum. Secondary flavors of spice and cedar. No earth or minerals on the palate. Some use of new oak. Fruit and spice compete for flavor dominance, but the dance is is a bit insipid.

Structure: This wine is dry. Acid is medium. Alcohol is medium. Tannins are medium. Finish is short. Complexity is low.

Conclusion: This wine is from the new world; wine is clear, no mineral or earthiness noted. From the acid and alcohol indicators, this appears to be from a moderate vintage. Primary/Secondary flavor balance suggests this wine is moderately aged.

Final Conclusion: This is a well-made bottle of wine. The acid, alcohol, tannin, and flavors are all balanced. Unfortunately, the entire flavor profile is fairly insipid and uninspiring. The technique is there, but it has no soul. A good QPR daily drinker, but each sip is forgotten before taking the next …

Give one year or decant. 95.2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4.8% Merlot. Lewis and Wallula vineyards. 14.1% alcohol. 107 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.
