DRC Tasting Group (Cafe Veloce): Tasted blind. Darker, more brooding, with wood spice on the nose. Dense and jammy--perhaps a touch stewed--on the body. Good acids.

I have rated this wine a 93 on what I think it will become, but I would give it an 90 based on what it is today. It seems to me to be the classic fine red Burgundy that is a very good wine today but that will become an outstanding one with many years of proper cellaring. Intense red fruit aromas and flavors, tight, bright flavors with very high acid levels. I think that the delicate Fixin flavors and complexity will emerge 2018-2025. At $50/E35 this has a poor QPR for drinking today but I am confident that it will have a very good QPR at maturity.

Rich, dark, dry. Slightly tannic but pleasantly so. Very enjoyable with food, and a great match with Crémeux de Bourgogne cheese.

Very nice nose after a few minutes. Palate is both smooth as velvet and still very firm (probably needs to age a bit). Long lasting taste.
