Showed very similar to the last bottle. This doesn’t quite have the stuffing of the 2005 - cooler vintage perhaps? In any case, this is still drinking pretty well, but I think this is in the beginning stages of drying out, as there seems to be more oak tannin than fruit and there’s not much depth. I have one more bottle and won’t wait much longer to drink it.

14.8% abv. Recent auction purchase. Medium-bodied and easy drinking left bank blend. Not as interesting or complex as the 2005 that I drank a week ago. Good wine, though glad I only paid < $20 for this at auction rather than the $50+ release price.

Decanted 1 hour. Better as it sits in the glass after 2-3 hours. Crimson with light bricking from age. Medium body and length. Ample acidity to be food friendly (paired with Moroccan rabbit stew). Silky tannin backbone, enough to support structure for another 1-2 years of drinking. Claret style.

This bottle drank slightly younger (and better) than the previous bottles (recent auction purchases). Very nice Bordeaux-style blend.
