A rich, initially fruity flavour giving way to chocolate & liquorice. Other notes have said drink by 2014 but this still held up well. Perhaps a liitle past it's best

I have never had a bottle from this Chateau so thought I would give it a try. It received a medal from the Concours Des Grands Vins De France and I usually enjoy many of the wines that compete there. This red is a blend of 35% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 25% Carignan, & 10% Mourvedre. Sounds interesting enough. A nice ruby red color in my glass and notes of plum, black raspberry, graphite, and spice on the nose. The mouth feel is medium bodied and fairly lush. Flavors of plum, dark forest floor berries, spice box, and earth. On my second tasting, I found some mushroom, tobacco, and a light oakiness on the finish. A good wine but it finished rather short. Complex enough with all the different flavors but it still seemed to be missing something that would have made it exciting in my glass! This is not a bad wine, rather tasty, but I felt it was holding back. This is a 2010 and it was opened an hour or more before tasting. This would pair well with medium cheeses, pork, pizza, burgers, or even a mushroom burger. If there is a nice sale on this wine, I may try it again on a different vintage. If you have a 2010 vintage of this wine, I would drink it before the end of 2014. Winesplashing!!

Very dark. Mixture of black currant and brambles with subtle leathery bouquet. Juicy, round, and smooth. Enough acidity to refresh the palate and sustain the finish.

Really acidic even after decanting. Nice bouquet but otherwise lackluster.
