  NOSE: intoxicating; deep; brooding; spicy – black pepper; only moderately expressive.
  
  BODY: impenetrable black-violet color; full bodied.
  
  TASTE: wow! Incredible acid and tannin; 20% alcohol can be felt in the belly; sweet; big, but not a caricature or ridiculous; strong mint/menthol note; purple-fruited; this is very good --- my only complaint is that the alcohol pokes through more than I’d like, but I suppose that’s somewhat to be expected of a Vintage Port.

  Dark violet color of great depth. Nose was very tight – difficult to discern much of anything here. It took all of approximately half a second for this wine’s beautiful structure to become readily apparent to me: massive tannin; incredible acidity; lovely blackberry fruit, which is very concentrated without being syrupy; this wine requires a significant amount of cellar time. Love it.
