Retail $65. Under screw cap. It has been another couple of years since the last bottle we had of this wine, and even though I was a bit worried about pulling this bottle. Why? My luck has not been great with older Pinots recently, but once I cracked this one, I knew there was no reason to worry. Rich berry fruit on both the nose and the palate with intense tartness and layers of intrigue. Whoa. 94 Points.
Drank from a magnum. Still young when first opened. Earth and acid driven with fresh and dried fruit. Developed over three hours and was far better as it stayed open. Still a lot of life in this bottle and should drink well for another 10 years (from magnum)

A typical Argyle pinot noir, decent acidity, crisp and excellent red cherry fruit. I think I like the Nut house series a bit more as they usually have more body but this is just fine. It is light but elegant and was an excellent match for grilled rack of lamb. I liked drunken cyclists comments about the consistency being attributable to the screw cap. If so Burgundy and Bordeaux should pay attention.

Retail $65. Under screw cap. It has been a hot minute, but this is the first bottle of this wine we have cracked in almost two years. Yowza. (That applies to bth the lapse as well as the wine). While 2008 was lauded by the critics and 2007 was heralded by the locals as a "classic" vintage in the valley, 2009 is a bit of a red-headed stepchild. Neither hedonistic (2008) nor austere (2007), this wine is right in my wheel house. Light in color but rich in aromas, this wine exudes dark, brooding cherry in the glass. The palate is, well, decadent, with rich cherry fruit, a viscous unctuousness, and a balancing acidity that identifies the best Pinots. And this is one of those. Yowza.
Staggeringly consistent (due to the screw-top?), this hits at well below its age (screw-top?). Juicy, lively (although "mature"), this is still going well, very well. Yowza. thedrunkencyclist.com
