Great nose of biscuits, brioche, apple, and starfruit. The palate has real concentration and high mouthwatering acidity, though there's just about the sweetness to match. The finish is medium in length, but also rather saline. This gives a very good idea of what top Burgundy is all about at an affordable price. Bill Nanson of the Burgundy Report rates this as the best of his top ten best value wines in the whole of Burdungy. I'd agree, the only caveat being where you buy. The domain price is around 16 euros. In a shop in Dijon, I paid 26, at which point it's still a good deal, though nothing extraordinary. 90+

From a parcel that borders the Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru Champ Gain. Really quality here. Excellent precision and serious minerality. As it stands, it's just a fraction too acidic to have perfect balance, but time should change that. This is better than most Puligny-Montrachets 1er crus I've drunk and only half the price. It's also the first white burg 2010 I've had and, if this is anything to go by, it seems a better vintage than 2009. I'll wait 5 years before drinking my remaining bottles. 90-92+

Not as good as previous bottles, though perhaps because it was served a bit cold. Seemed a little closed, so may be better in a few years time.
