A combination of grapes from Alexander Valley and Mendocino's Eaglepoint Ranch has yielded one of the better tasting sangiovese's that I have sampled from California. Surprisingly smooth well balanced and good fruit still showed. I even capped it and sucked out the air and after two weeks in the frig I still liked it. Go figure...

($18) Honeymoon in the Wine Country: Touch of American oak with sweet candy, vanilla,. Sweetish cherry fruit. Good richness and acidity. This is pretty nice for California Sangiovese.

This has really held up well. Still plenty of fruit, no tannins, medium bodied.
