(SYP) Small glass. Notes of dark berry, spice and ocean air. Cool and slightly dark on the palate with particularly good concentration and a chewy finish. 92+

very good, and fully robust (felt more like a '15 than an '11)... with plenty of dark red fruit and tons of spice / umami / mouthfeel etc... WOW this packed a punch but wasn't heavy at all... felt like it would benefit from at least ten more years (unlike most '11's in my view - not a long lived vintage)

Selosse Substance (disgorgement years 2008, 2014, 2016) and JJ Confuron RSV (2000, 2001, 2011 vintages) dinner with BurgNick and The Littlehorse. All 6 wines tonight were beautiful.
Agree with the comments below, this was certainly one of my favourite 2011 burg reds. There was no greenness at all considering the vintage, and oak was well integrated. The fruits were darker vs 2000. On the nose, floral, dried roses, black plums, dark currants, tar, hint of spices and chalkiness, on the palate, generous darker purple fruits, rubbed violets, gentle spices, peppery herbal tea, firm back palate tannin, super good grip on the finish.
What I like about confuron's wines tonight is that they were all so classic, natural, silky yet with firm tannin, offered very good grip and long finish. There was no hint of chaptalization, which I appreciated.

Consistent with previous note. The best 11 red I have had. The bottle should have given more time to air. The sweetness was not as expressive tonight probably because of that. Certainly has upside from here as the oak needs time to integrate. 92-93

Drinking great and none of the typical '11 greenness.
