  • Have to love a wine tech sheet with notes:

" The number of bottles of a wine drank by the winemaker while pretending to write a
product sheet is a sure indication of how much he loves that wine. It’s a wonder that there is any 2011 Gewürztraminer left for you. "

Domestic Gewurtz is hard to pull off. A variety best in cooler climates, CA often produces over ripe, flabby, over floral examples.
D-G as always does justice to the varietal.

A classic Gewurtz nose of honeysuckle, ripe stone fruit.
In the mouth, a lush texture with notes of ripe pear, orange citrus, dance in the glass.

D-G has produced an amazing array of Alsatian wines this year, a stunning Riesling, great Pinot Blanc, and now this (sold out) Gewurtz.
Great job demonstrating the breadth of Russian River Valley beyond Pinot Noir & Chardonnay!
