  • Maybe needed a Longer decant; OK but a bit funky. Not worth price of admission. May need more Time

  • decanted for one hour (much more sediment in my stainless steel mesh filter than most CA cabs - more like a Bordeaux) - inky red - forward fruit nose of blackberries and casis - full body in the mouth with nice acid-fruit balance, and well resolved ripe tannins - 15-20 sec finish - this was much nicer than the 2009 I had a year or two ago - drinking well now, but agree with some of the comments that it has room to improve with a few more years, maybe 3-5 - I'm not sure I would characterize this as Bordeaux-like, but it is definitely in the spectrum between opulent New World cabs and more structured elegant French Bordeaux - actually a very nice place to be!

  • what a difference time can make. I reviewed this wine back in 2018 and
It was unimpressive and i was doubtful that time would turn it into anything special. Boy was i wrong. This second bottle is outstanding and is one of the most enjoyable wines I've had all year. Wonderful fruit, forest floor notes, balanced structure and a long satisfying finish. Very glad I waited to open the second bottle and wish I had more.

  • This is in the top 5 wines that I have had in the last year.
Paired perfectly with grilled Wagyu Ribeyes.
Drinking beautifully now. Opened and drank over 3 hours and first glass was just as good as the last. Nose of dark fruits, forest floor, and faint tobacco. Evolved, fine grained tannins, blue and black fruit, spice, and restrained crush rock minerality on the palate. Finish is beautiful and long. Have one more bottle, could drink now or wait many more years.

  • Nose of black cherry and meat.. Initial taste seemed to have a Rutherford dust feel. Plenty of tannins still,, though the wine was a little out of balance right now. Holding my last bottle for a while longer.
