  • Better than the last bottle from about 6 weeks ago - still drying out with a short-ish finish and high-ish alcohol, but not quite as much. Still, this didn't interest me much after a glass (my wife as well), so this was put back in the wine fridge and tried again 2 nights later. This actually seemed to help it out a bit, with some softening of the texture and filling out a little. Not great, but enjoyable. Probably 87 - 88 if scoring.

  • Disappointing bottle. Started out promising with a powerful and dark Cab nose. On the palate, things kind of fell apart, as this was clearly drying out. Oak tannin was prominent, alcohol was out of control and very distracting. Kind of a mess. This was not the case with the previous two bottles in the past year+, as those were drinking great. "No great wine, only great bottles" I guess. One remaining bottle - hope that one is better.

  • Ripe and rich, and seamlessly integrated at the moment. Just in a great spot right now. Maybe a bit on the simple side for a wine of this pedigree, but just so damn enjoyable at the moment. Did not notice any alcohol spike that others have noted. Has the stuffing to at least hold for another 5 years or so.

  • 14.9% abv. Recent auction purchase.
I found this to be exceptional from the pop 'n pour. Really nice properly aged mountain Cabernet aromas and flavor profile. Nicely balancing acidity and integrated tannin. Didn't notice the alcohol spike that a previous note referenced. Fruit is definitely not in the exuberant stage - based on the most recent notes here maybe this was better a few years ago? I don't know, but my wife and I really found this to be in a very good spot and we polished off the bottle in a short amount of time.

  • Still very nice but it seems to have regressed since my last bottle. Dark plum aromas on the nose. The palate shows plums, black cherries, licorice, cedar. Smooth tannins, nice acidity, good balance. Moderately long finish of dark fruits. Not quite the grip it previously had. A bit of heat starting to manifest. Probably past prime, but still very nice. Drink over the next 2 years.
