This Chianti CR is both intense and intensely oaked over a little extraction and fruit short of enough pedigree to merit its distinct treatment. Unbalanced. Acids make me cringe. At least my deeply contemplated glass tonight was this way.
Politically correct nose and mouth apart from the warm-body-oak. Today it's like a charicature, but it may well come around to an 87-ish wine.

Tasted blind. Nailed it as a Sangiovese on the bitter almond and cherry nose. There are herbs as well, and quite a lot of toasted oak. Youthful on the palate, good concentration, decent acidity and length. Too oaky for me but a good wine that will probably improve over five years or so.
